MEET THE STUDIO & TRAINERS

 

> The Owner/Trainer <

Jennifer Gilliland aka Jenn Gil is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and ACE Functional Training Specialist.  She is addicted to learning and growing so you'll likely find her checking out new adventures, reading the latest articles and books while lounging with her dog, and chatting with others about their experiences.  Aside from training, Jenn is a full-time accountant which brings an understanding of busy schedules, and the self-care necessary to stay healthy while keeping up. 

Along with being a CPT, Jenn has group fitness certifications in Rumble by R.I.P.P.E.D., TRX, PLYOGA, and various other certiications.  Jenn's background includes amateur boxing, local running club member, casual golf player, and speed skater.  She regularly participates in yoga, meditation, strength, and endurance training.  She's started her fitness journey multiple times throughout the years, as I'm sure many of you can relate. This time it's here to stay as she's found her why for making it a priority. That why is helping you transform your lifestyle and have some fun along the way.

Transform your lifestyle at J.Gil Fitness' private fitness studio - 503 S. Country Fair Drive #2E in Champaign, IL.

 

J.Gil Fitness was established March 2018 to provide the community with a slightly unconventional yet effective way of training while enjoying the benefits of being outdoors - the OG outdoor bootcamps.  Online training was added in late 2018 to continue working with clients while the Midwest weather wasn't ideal for outdoor activities.  It has since provided a way to reach those that do not live locally or cannot attend specific training times.

In early 2019, J.Gil Fitness expanded by partnering with a local training facility to add indoor training to the schedule - Group PT.  And in Summer 2019, collaborations began with local businesses and organizations to offer Pop Up events to celebrate the community and raise awareness.

In 2020, J.Gil Fitness opened it's own private fitness studio in Champaign, IL.  With this move came an expansion of services offered including the addition of several group fitness classes - outdoor, indoor, virtual, and a new trainer was added to the Team to provide additional class formats/styles.  We have options for everyBODY!

Kari Young started at J.Gil Fitness in 2020.  She has taught and attended numerous Group Fitness classes over the years fueling her love of the industry.  A former dancer, Kari is a licensed Zumba and HIGH Fitness instructor, and a certified TRX, PLYOGA, and Barre Above instructor. 

 

Kari's passion is meeting students where they're at in their journey and finding the best way to make fitness work for them. When not teaching, you can find her developing new choreography, hanging out with friends, and trying to adopt all of the animals.

Kari is the perfect Zumba teacher.  I couldn't believe how many calories I burned.

I have used Jenn’s expertise for both group classes and private training and can’t recommend her enough! I have some orthopedic issues that limit what/how I’m able to do certain workouts and she is great about taylor-making them to my accessibility and needs. Most importantly overall though, she’s a blast to work with!

It's been great for people to get back into a group and have some normalcy, physically and mentally.  I think it's really great for people to keep moving.

Totally recommend for any level of entry into your fitness goals. Classes are fun with great supportive instructor and fellow attendees, very affordable and great follow through with all fitness questions

I don't know how Jenn does it with Online Personal Training because she's not there with me doing the workouts, but they're always spot on with what I'm looking for.

Where is J.Gil Fitness located?

  • Our private fitness studio is located at 503 S. Country Fair Drive #2E in Champaign, IL.

    • In-Studio Training:  Use the entrance on the North side of the building and head up the stairs, our Studio #2E is on the left.

    • Outdoor Training:  Meet outside the North Entrance and we will enter the private, outdoor area as a group.

    • Live, Virtual Training:  You'll receive a Zoom link by e-mail the day of training.

What are the studio hours?

  • The studio is open for scheduled training times and appointments only.  Group Training times can be found here and must be booked in advance.  Always check the Active Calendar for schedule changes, Studio closures, pop up events, and more.

  • Want to schedule an appointment/consultation?  Submit the contact form and we'll be in touch.

What packages are available?  Where can I purchase?

  • Group Training:

    • Memberships are available for 4x, 6x, or Unlimited trainings per 4 weeks with recurring billing.  Memberships can be used for any regularly scheduled Group Trainings.  Memberships require no additional commitment - cancel or freeze the next billing cycle by e-mail with at least 5 business days notice.  Credits expire at the end of each 4 week billing cycle.

    • FlexPass packages are available to drop in 1x, 5x, or 10x.  Drop in packages can be used for any regularly scheduled Group Trainings.  Credits expire 1 year from purchase date. 

    • Advanced class sign up is required and opens 1 week prior to class start time, and remains open until class start time.

      • Cancellation Policy:  Clients may cancel advanced sign ups up to 3 hours prior to start with no penalty.  Cancellations made within 3 hours of start time will result in loss of credit.  Classes cancelled by the Studio prior to start time will have no penalty.

    • We offer 15% off* Group Training memberships when multiple people in your household subscribe.  Contact us for more details.  *Cannot be combined with other offers or specials.

  • Online Personal Training packages are available to train 3x per week for 4 or 12 weeks with recurring billing.  Looking for more than 3 workouts per week?  Contact us about a personalized package.  Online PT requires no additional commitment - cancel or freeze the next billing cycle by e-mail with at least 5 business days notice. 

    • Group Training packages are available at a discounted rate when you subscribe to both Online PT and Group Training.  Contact us for more details.

    • We offer 15% off* Online Personal Training memberships when multiple people in your household subscribe.  Contact us for more details.  *Cannot be combined with other offers or specials.

  • Workout Guides can be accessed on MyPTHub for 1 year from purchase date.  Workouts can be completed as many times as you want within that year.

  • Programs, Packages, Guides, Gift Cards, and Merchandise can be viewed and purchased here.  All purchases are non-refundable, non-nontransferable, and may not be split between multiple clients.

Who can participate?

  • All fitness levels welcome.  Must be 18 or older.  Always consult with a Physician prior to the start of any fitness program.

Can I participate with an injury?

  • You know your body best.  We always practice safety first and encourage you to consult with a Physician.  If you were seen by a Physician, a release is required prior to training.   

Is equipment provided?

  • Yes, equipment is provided by J.Gil Fitness for all in-person trainings.  We do require that you bring your own exercise mat or purchase one at the Studio.  You may also bring your own equipment, if desired.  For virtual trainings, you are responsible for your own equipment, or similar items for use.

    • Minimum equipment required by class:

      • Online Personal Training:  Workouts are customized to your available equipment.

      • Barre:  Exercise mat, mini loop resistance band, 2 light dumbbells - recommended 1-5lb, and Bender ball.

      • Barre Motion:  None required. 

      • Flow:  Exercise mat, suspension straps, and yoga block.

      • HIGH Fitness:  None required. 

      • POWer:  Rumble stick - Want your own?  Purchase one at the Studio.   

      • TR(e)X:  Exercise mat and suspension straps.

      • Zumba:  None required.

Is there a place to change clothes at the Studio?

  • Yes, however space is limited so we ask, if possible, you arrive dressed ready to workout.

Are there showers?

  • For use by Trainers only. 

Can I leave my personal items at the Studio?

  • We do not offer long term storage.  We ask that all personal items be placed in the storage area while training at the Studio.  We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal equipment or items.

Guidelines effective 11/30/2020 based on IDPH guidance:

  • Personal Training will continue to be offered both in-studio and online. 

  • Group Training will be held both virtually and as an open gym format.  The open gym format will be in-studio with the workout provided via template o complete on your own during the regularly scheduled time.  A Trainer will be in the Studio to answer questions.

  • Please review this list for equipment needed prior to virtual classes. 

  • Advanced booking is still required for all trainings/appointments/consultations to maintain stay within capacity limits with necessary physical distancing.   .  All purchases and forms must be completed online.

  • Masks must be worn at all times indoors.  Everyone is required to supply their own masks.

  • Trainers and Clients will undergo a symptom screening including touchless temperature check prior to entry into training each day.

  • Hand sanitation stations are available - hand sanitizer must be used before and after training, at minimum.

  • Changing areas will be unavailable.

  • A transition period will be between all trainings/appointments/consultations to help with social distancing.  This also provides time to clean and disinfect high touch surfaces and high traffic areas.  The Studio is cleaned and disinfected based on CDC guidelines using EPA approved products multiple times per day. 

  • The Studio is equipped with MERV 11 filters, live plants, and an air purifier to assist with air quality.

  • If you are feeling unwell, or have been in contact with a suspected case within the past 2 weeks, stay home.
